MS word help!!

Why does word do this to me?!?!? It's driving me nuts. While continuing numbering it some how moves the indent in the middle of a series of numbers. Here's a screenshot I took. Now I can manually adjust it by spacing it over but it looks a little funky if you look close.

You forgot to say which version of Word.

If it's 2007 or similar, maybe try the thing in BOLD below:


* Office symbol in the upper left corner > Word Options (lower right):

* Popular > UNCHECK: Show Mini Toolbar on selection

* Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat As You Type TAB >
UNCHECK: Straight quotes with smart quotes

then Smart Tags TAB > UNCHECK all
then AutoFormat TAB > UNCHECK: Straight quotes with smart quotes
