Both of these are on sale right now on newegg but the msi one is $10 more expensive ($20 if counting rebate)

MSI

XFX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150729

from what I have read up on, XFX got rid of their lifetime warranty and its now only 2 years while the msi one is 3 years
the msi one seems to be better to overclock with it

Anyone has opinions on which one I should get? (length is not an issue, I ordered a new case)

Pretty sure the Msi card has a better power section then the Xfx, as far as overclocking this may help but it's really just a roll of the dice on which will Oc better.

Ending up getting the MSI one for $275 + mir of $20

seems it cools better, better oc ability, extra year of warranty, led logo looks nicer in the case, and an overall better quality card

I'm going to pass this on to another member that has more knowledge of the subject then I Joe.

no, it only comes with a power cable
the 980 still has a DVI-i port and can output both analog and digital that's why they came with adapters, but amd switch to the digital output only DVI-d

This is the active cable I am talking about

but I wanted to know if the displayport can output analog without an active converter
Display port is a digital packet interface, so for display port to VGA, you would need this very similar converter:

On the DVI-I cable above, analog is carried on the 4 pins surrounding the blade connector on the right. DVI-D carries no analog signal so a converter is needed.
