That case does not come with a PSU...so you'll need to add a PSU to your list. Personally, I like pretty cases...and that one is kinda plain, and cheap looking. Just my opinion. If you're the type of guy to stick your case under your desk and never look at it again, then any old cheap case should be fine.

That WD HDD is one of the better drives out there now...I'd recommend it.

Crucial RAM...it's good stuff, and it's cheap :)

video card---if you're a gamer, I'd advise you to splurge and get an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro. Second choice would be an Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4200. If you're not a gamer, you could probably find a video card even cheaper than that that will meet your needs.

and...ummm...if you're gonna get the nice 7.1 sound card, why are you buying cheapie 4.1 speakers? skip the sound card, and just use the on-board sound on the motherboard, if sound quality isn't a big deal for you.

Oh yeah I forogot the PSU. I am getting the:

Its about $45 with shipping. I know its a cheap case, but I dont really need anything fancy, or very aesthetically pleasing.

Personally I like the 8500 and I'm going to need a semi- good graphics card. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I need something that wont need to be upgraded real soon.

About the sound. I need good sound for dvds and movies. Also I like to listen to music a lot. Do you think I'd be ok wuth onboard sound and what speakers do you suggest?

altec lansing has some good 5.1 speakers for under 70$, but klipsch is usually more 'top of the line' oriented.

about the speakers

I'm trying to keep my computer in the $600-700 range. So Klipsch speakers are way too expensive for me.

I've got Altec Lansing's model 251 5.1 speaker set. Newegg has them for $68. I'd definately recommend them.

If you're gonna be watching movies, then you'll almost certainly want 5.1 speakers (at least).

Logitech's Z-560's are one of the better sets out there now, although a bit more expensive.

Honestly, I've never used a mobo with onboard sound. Some guys use it and like it, others hate it. I think you should try out the onboard sound and see how you like it...do that before you shell out cash for a sound card. If it sounds like crap, you can always order a sound card and add it in later.

that vid card is usually overpriced. you could probably get a GF3 for cheaper and it would perform better. unless you want the built in TV tuner i wouldn't go with the 8500. for the money a GF3 or 9000 series ATI would be better.

a geforce 3, ok, I I guess I'll get that since its only $10 more. But do you think it will conflict with my mobo?

And hows this for speakers: Creative I-Trigue 2.1 3300 3-Piece Speaker (Black) - RETAILDesigned with looks to enhance your desktop, and performance rich enough to enhance any desktop entertainment
