I refuse to get a Hans G. My friend ordered one and had it shipped out here. Hooked it up to his laptop. It has some really bad backlight bleed. I can't deal with that. I'll be getting the Asus here in a few days when I get paid :D

Is there any reason why you would not grab this monitor before the sale ends tonight? I bought it today but have not done much research. I have one more question that may seem silly but I have been out of touch for awhile. Still using rig in my sig.

I am currently using a 20 inch Sony trinitron CRT that is not widescreen. After I hook up the new Sammy widescreen, I assume the desktop and Internet displayed will expand to full screen without any black bars on the sides (like letterbox when you play STD def tv channel on widescreen tv) I also assume I will be able to get full screen without it Looking stretched. Is this correct? Thanks.

Yes, just adjust your monitor resolution to a native widescreen setting and pretty much everything will be supported. Only some older legacy games don't support widescreen (but still do with easy hacks).

If you ever have trouble with any of your games just check out http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page for any fixes.

I found out that my new monitor will come with only a d-sub cable, which they said is similiar to VGA. The monitor also has a DVI port. I have never used DVI. Is DVI a higher quality connection compared to d-sub? If so, I'll buy a DVI cable. Thx.

Thx for the reply. I received my monitor yesterday and hooked it up via DVI. It came with a DVI-D cable, which works fine. This thing is incredible! The blacks are soo black just like my Samsung HD TV. I noticed the price jumped up $40 after the black friday weekend special. I'm so happy I grabbed it.
