after 3 hours using these settings, I got a bsod saying...The system encountered an uncorrectable problem

I'm guessing my voltages need some tweaking, if someone could help me out that would be great. thanks

Your voltages are really high for these speeds...especially VTT.

What were you max load temps?

Check out the guide I wrote (linked in my sig) for a more reliable method of overclocking :)

oh, and :welcome: to OCF :cool:

CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ( 170 ) Now set at::::> 165

CPU VCore ( 1.36250 ) Now set at::::> Vcore 1.34375

CPU VTT Voltage ( +300 ) Now set at::::> +225

Someone told me for 12GB of Ram I should be running a higher ICH VCORE, I have this set at auto. What's a good voltage for 12GB?

Doing a OCCT stable test right now, Seems to be running good, Idle CPU 23C Max Load CPU 47C and all the CPU cores are running around 53-61C

My Goal 4GHz, I'm moving CPU host frequency up in increments of about 5 and testing for stability each time, when i start fine-tuning going up by 1 each time

Is this a good way to find 4GHz stable?

Prime95 running test Small FFT for 1hour,

REAL TEMPS: CPU: [58C] / [Cores] 73C/74C/72C/70C 100% LOAD

OCCT: Passed with 0 errors

Do these Voltages look ok for this Overclock?

Also on my i7 940, Somehow I can change the 4.8GT/s QPI Frequency all the way up to 6.4GT/s

Some people were saying this was locked, and you could only change it on the i7 965

If I change this to 6.4GT/s will i need to change some voltages also?

Is this something that will boost speeds when overclocking?

Right now it's set on Auto, But has all speeds Listed

Wow these formums are slow..

lol. Uhh.
I dunno. Try posting a few more times, say maybe 2 minutes apart instead of 5. That should help.
Oh, and be patient.
And follow MIAH's excellent guide as posted above in post #2.
