Need some assistance: Converting fittings

it sounds like the pvc will measure 1/2" OD. Maybe someone else can say what I mean in a clear and understandable manner.

I apologize for the big hassle, its just that I have been to lowes 2 times carrying the pump with me, and both times I was given different things that they assured me would work, only to have it not work.

Edit: NVM, I just pulled and pulled and pried it off.

Can anybody tell me exactly how I remove the front housing on this thing. Everything I see people say it should be really easy, but I have pulled and pushed and pried to no avail.
