I just setup wireless networking in my house today and I decided to go with the netgear WGR614 wireless router. It supports 802.11g and has 4 10/100 ports for wired connections and also came with an 802.11g wireless pcmcia network card. The setup was easy and the I like it so far.
Does anyone know of any disadvantages to this setup? Please let me know.
Here is a link to what I got.

no real disadvantages to using Netgear but I do hope you've secured your Router.

-change the SSID
-Disable SSID broadcasting
-change IP of router
-enable either WEP or WPA (WPA is better)
-enable MAC filtering

Just a few things to start you off with.

Forgot to add:

-change default username/password used to log into the router

Other than needing to secure your wireless connection...not that I know of.

Thanks for the help...I appreciate it because I'm new to this wireless biz. I guess i need to get some work going. Good thing I'm laid up today after gum surgery. It gives me a chance to get these things done. Again I appreciate the help. Gotta love the wireless...just laying down on my couch watching a movie, and reading the forums.
