are you open to getting some of the parts used?you could probably shave a nice chunk off of the cost by getting the cpu/mobo/vga from the classifieds.another question I have is do you plan to do any future upgrades to this rig or will it be a set it up and forget it kind of thing?

You should definitely go with a dual core CPU for the things you're going to be using it for.
