Got it at 2.9ghz stable ...3 ghz just isnt stable but i went from a 3dmark 06 of 10,344 to 11,989 bout time....i totally forgot about the software gigabyte gave me with my board... Of Course gotta do more testing but it seems fine right now...

I wonder if your mobo is holding you back. I take it you upgrade to the latest firmware. Reviewers here got your chip to 3ghz. as such, you wno't be better off with e8400. might as well go quad core.
