hi got a new system today, 3.0E Prescott Asus P4c 800E deluxe, 2xWestern digital SATA HDD's, trying to setup HDD's in a RAID1 config books not too helpful how exactly do i connect hdd's to motherboard, MB has 2x sata connectors and 2x raid connectors.

I believe you have to install drivers when you load windows xp by hitting f6. in bios you set ide configuration as follows:

onbard ide operate mode [enhanced mode]
enhanced mode support on [s-ata]
configure sata as raid [yes]
serial ata bootrom [enabled]
press f10 to save configuration.

He is correct, hit F6 when you are begging to install Windows and insert the floppy. You want to use the Silicon Image drivers as the Sil chip supports Raid 1. Sil is "onboard", not "on chip". "On Chip" is Intel's Raid 0, no Raid 1.
