i have 1 stick of 512 ddr pc 3200 in slot 1 . i noticed that slot 1 and 2 are close together and slot 3 is a different color and spaced away so can that 3 rd slot suport slower ram? because i would like to use my pc 2700 int hat slot if i can.

cpu is amd xp 2400+ 133 fbs
ddr 512 ddr pc 3200
mobo nf7-s

ram is set to 6/2/2/2.5 my cpu stock speed is 133 x 15 i have it over clocked to 150 x 15 the system bus is doubled pumped at 300 fsb 5/5 ratio

The third space for ram is intended for a second stick of ram if you were going to be running the Ram in Dual Channel Mode. Yes you can run another of ram in there, but then you need to run both sticks of ram at the same speed. The pc3200 ram will run fine at 200 FSB and the pc2700 is rated to run at 166 FSB. Unless your processor is a mobile I doubt it will be able to overclock all the way up to 200, but it might overclock up to 166. Just remember to never run the ram at a different speed than the CPU.

ty i noticed the ram i have was older than pc 2700 so i cant use that and i also noticed that a stick of 512 cost like 40$ on newegg :)
