Just something I am curious about as I upgrade to a new $1500 mobo+CPU combo.

If for some reason I install DIMM's that are NOT compatible with my mobo, what is the worse thing that could happen?

Is their any danger in destroying either my mobo or CPU?

*Noob#2 incoming*

If I may ask, what is there not to be compatible? Ram is ram, rigt? 240 pins, ddr3 or 4, dual or triple channel..I don't see how it may not post?
(as long as stock or lower speed is wet)
