Just bought myself a new computer, put it together last night. So this morning i decided to install my Windows Pro, when i pop it in, I get: "NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl Alt Del to Restart"

No clue what could be wrong :(

Specs:

Q6600
2GB Crucial Ballistix
320GB HDD
MotherBoard
Corsair 520VX
8800 GT

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have it set to boot from CD.

Would buying a new copy of XP solve this? Or is this a hardware issue?

its trying to boot into windows and one of the first bits on the HDD "NTLDR" is not there. A windows repair should do it.

Hardware issue. Make sure your drives are set correctly master slave wise.

IDE Channel 0 Master = DVD Drive
IDE Channel 0 Slave = None
IDE Channel 1 Master = None
IDE Channel 1 Slave = None
IDE Channel 2 Master = None
IDE Channel 2 Slave = None
IDE Channel 3 Master = None
IDE Channel 4 Master = ST3320620A
IDE Channel 4 Slave = None
IDE Channel 5 Master = None
IDE Channel 5 Slave = None

Dumb question, but how can I do that if I can't get windows to work? :x

I guess its a problem with the CD then....can you get a replacement from microsoft?

Edit: sorry i thought you had already installed it so ^^^

do you get the message to "press any button to boot from cd"

if not is not booting from your rive, try a different drive ?

if the CD runs from the computer your posting this from, the disk is fine,

This is a problem with the boot.ini. There are a few things I would try. (not in any order)

-different drives
-update bios
-move HDD to different port
-make 100% sure boot order is correct

Im posting from another computer. Maybe I should have mentioned that: My old DELL came with a XP disk, I popped that in it worked fine, but i guess its only registered to my old DELL and wouldnt completely install. I guess you could say I'm using a pirated copy of XP (technically). Should I go buy XP?
