Ok, call me stupid (avatar selection)

but how do you get an avatar on these forums? Until the edit avatar option, it has a box that says 'no avatar selected', and the radial button 'do not use an avatar' is checked. I don't see anywhere to change this, and select one. What am I missing.

You have to select "No Avatar" and save changes for the avatar selection screen to become visible for the first time.
