I hope this is the proper forum for this.

I'm looking for a desk reference guide for Oracle PL SQL. I'm able to find some which date back to the late 90s using Oracle 8i. For the sake of PL SQL would these books suffice or would I be missing too much versus getting one written for 11g--which is what I am using?

depends on what you are trying to do. Most business' using an enterprise version of oracle are usually at the very least 8i, but from my experience, 9i is the standard for some smaller (older companies) due to the read/write for XML.

I personally have only dealt with 10g and just recently have started getting in to 11. Newer business' will likely be at 10 or higher so learning the higher levels would likely be better since they incorporate all of the previous versions functions etc.
