Other than Ryzen, What benefits from overclocked Memory?

AFAIK, Gaming has no real benefit for DDR4 memory speeds past the old DDR3 1600 speeds... which begs the question; What sort of process is memory intensive and would benefit greatly from faster ram?

I just want to see some other uses I don't normally explore myself.

It depends on the game. Fallout 4 responds well to memory overclocking. There is a good ddr3 scaling article I'm too lazy to link to.
Arma engine games (PUBG) like fast ram. I've seen more than a few articles showing improved minimum FPS with faster ram particularly in multiplayer.
