I have a dell Insprion 1501 with the processor shown above (Turion 64 MK36 (2.0GHz, 512K)) but the dell came with windows vista basic installed (no 64-bit). What kind of performance gain would I get from installing a 64-bit vista package? Is it even possiable to do so on this laptop? Should I scrap windows vista and go for a 64-bit xp?
