Oh, and I appreciate the offer on the SSD but I'm dying to get my feet wet with raid0 on those ;D

So what we think:

Mobo - Z77 Saber tooth - 239

Cooler - Hyper 212 - 29

Ram - 8gb Sniper - 50

Case - 650D - 162

PSU - 1050x - 200

GPU - gtx 670 - ?450?

Optical - 2x Liteon - 49

Card Reader - Rosewill - 34

So I don't cry over the lack of red - red LED strip - 7

Puts me at 1213 . . . I can live with that. Is $450 a good enough guestimate on the 670?

670 is worth it. Your power supply is not. Way overkill. Save some money with the psu.. get a cheaper model. 2 670s will run on a quality 650w psu really.

OCZ 750w ZT could be a good option for you.

Thanks! I will be super careful about shorts but obviously once I mash everything together all I can really do is pray . . . lol

Thanks for the response. The computer is already built though. I went with an OCZ 1000w Fatal1ty. I know it's overkill but the only thing I ever regretted on my last build was getting a "more than enough" PSU and not an "overkill" one. Every time I put something new in it I was biting my fingers that my ever-faithful 485w enermax could handle it So I vowed on my next build to get an overkill PSU and that's what I did. Just be glad I didn't get the 1200w I was originally looking at

Ha. Shame I didn't find this thread sooner.. Remember new tech is using LESS power.. Not more.. But glad you're happy with your build =).

I notice you lack a keyboard.. Go mechanical. It's worth it . (I'm talking Filco, Leopold, Das, or something like that; not Razer Blackwidow (ugh)).

Anywho. Glad it's all done and working well! =)

Glue it will protect everything i had ro do that to a usb whoes case had shattard never a problem and if you ever wana take it off just heat it up

Ack! New tech uses less power. . . Why I didn't think of that I don't know . . . lol. I guess I just figured MOAR cuda cores and MOAR gigahurtz meant MOAR watts . . . lol

I've been considering a keyboard upgrade. My wife and I are planning on moving within the next year or so after I graduate so I think I'll hold off . . .my desk area is nothing to brag about right now and I new keyboard would be a bit of a waste.

The blackwidow is an overpriced joke of a mechanical keyboard. Very plastic, crappy keycaps, and blue switches for a gaming keyboard? Come on. The fact they added gaming keyboard in the title also means they had the excuse to bump up the price lol. I'm not a fan of Razer in general .
