Hi.

I'm having problem with connecting two monitors (DP & HDMI) to GTX 970.

On the GTX 970, my main monitor is connected on HDMI.

Then I got new monitor that has DP & HDMI.

So, I connected new monitor to DP port of the GTX 970.

When I did that, the new monitor says no DP signal.

So, I turned off pc, took out the HDMI cable from GTX 970, disconnected DP Cable, re-connected DP cable, and boot the pc.

Then finally the new monitor that has DP turns on.

What the heck? I thought DP and HDMI suppose to work at the same time?

Is this suppose to be happen?

Thanks for reply.

No, it only recognizes only main (1st) monitor.

I mean the computer only recognizes only one monitor at a time.

Do you have multiple HDMI or DisplayPort connections available?

@ ATMINSIDE
Wait, I just tried turn on the new monitor and it suddenly works, when it wasn't before?

I don't get what's going on.

I wonder if the connection was loose?
Did you reboot in between?

@ ATMINSIDE
Before it worked suddenly, I rebooted several time and checking if the cable connection was loose, but it wasn't.

But after reboot for last time, I didn't reboot. I just took out cable and re connected the cable and turned on new monitor and it worked suddenly (automatically), as I mentioned earlier.

I know it is now solved, but that was very weird problem.

I would give it a few days before claiming its fixed. I hope it is, on my 970 it was hit or miss. If I changed resolution, one monitor would quickly excuse itself from working. I just quit using 2 monitors

Oh, ok.
Well, both monitors are not same thing.
I will give it a few days before claiming its fixed.
Well, so far, until now, it works fine.
