as for the radiator. i would get a swiftech MCR320 or a cheapish car radiator.

i'll second the car radiatior. specifically a transmission cooler or heater core would work well. this one looks good on EBAY.

"edit: just saw your post. they make smaller ones than this. how would you have it oriented behind the tank? laying flat or standing up?"

just had a good idea. put a fish tank thermometer in it. :D

Project on hold possibly canceled...

I broke the tank on accident last night and sliced up my hand pretty good. After spending all night in the ER, and seeing a specialist today, my budget will be gone.

Well at least it happened before you dumped all the money on parts. I'm sorry it happened to you all the same, this is one of the few cooler projects that I had been following up on.

Today actually went pretty well. I will not be needing any surgery, or further medical assistance. Only a follow-up with the ortho next Friday. I have decided that I will not let this stop my plans, but it is definitely going to push them back. I have been getting alot of interest in this project (from outside OCF as well), and I feel that my poor decisions have let you all down. My only shining light here is that prices should be much better when I am able to start this again.

Now for the important question.... Who wants to see pics of the damage?

I do. Everyone loves pics!

Everyone also loves case mods. Its great to know you can continue your work.

Now you understand that by damage I was referring to my finger, right?
One way or another I will have this finished by the end of the year.

So I am thinking about tearing down my P4 that i just finished, and doing the tank build with it (small things about it are ****ing me off). That will allow me to have a very small investment in the tank build. I will then use some donated parts from friends, and do a cheaper C2D build in the water rig I am currently running. It will also Fold.

I won't post the pics as I'm sure not everyone wants to look at them, but here are links to 2 of them. I assure you they are safe Photobucket links as I know most people don't like clicking unknowns.

WARNING: MILD GORE

Long story short, it slipped and cracked one of the plates. That ticked me off so I hit it....:bang head bad choice. The fact that I didn't directly post the pics should have been a hint that they were not for "dinner viewing." Anyone in the mood for sushi? :eh?:

:D

That doesn't look to be very bad. Nothing more than a shaving accident.

j/k lol Sorry to hear that your project is on hold and you hurt yourself.

nice meaty pics

Feel better and let us know when you start up the project again!

I love the project, shame about your little acident, reminds me of many an acident Ive had

'get hurt by inanimate object -> get angry and attack inanimate object -> end up hurt more'

hope you find a replacement aquairum would be a shame to see all your reserch go to waste and would really like to see this complete.

that looks like something that happens to me every other week for some odd reason and no i am not intentionally doing it either

i would like to see this completed as it will be a very different folder

So what do you think guys...

I have a friend with a 40gal aquarium for sale cheap. I have another friend with a P4, also for sale cheap. I'm thinking about rigging it up with my P4 so it would be a larger aquarium with 2 Folding P4's suspended in oil. That tank will also allow me to use a better/larger pump.

Here is the aquarium:

I was given a nice SATA HD, and a BFG 8500GT so I was thinking about re-building my main rig with the quad. I figure I can get all this done for around my original budget, even after medical bills (depending on the ER bill).

So, What do you think?

Is that your garage? That sure looks like a 350z.

It looks good. You could mount the PSUs in the wood aswell as the HDs :D

That is my friend's garage, and that is his 350. You can check it out here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2045688

The PSUs will probably be either in the top corners, or the bottom corners...unless I could find one that could run both MOBOs. I still plan to use the Cf cards rather than HDs, but I do see the cabinet as a great place to mount the radiator or just PC parts storage.

Hi Godfather. I signed up for OCF just now for the sole purpose of telling you how incredibly sweet this idea is!! I think this protein tank thing is so cool it makes me cry... a little bit. I especially like the screen so viewers get a better sense of the purpose of it all. Anyway I wish you best of luck on the hand thing and hope you will persevere.
