It's fine. I use the new mx-4 and it works fine too.
The difference between thermal pastes, nonmetal ones is a couple of C from worst to first. That difference is often reduced to nil by mounting variations. In short, 90% of pastes on the market work fine, and you won't notice a difference between them. The expensive metal pastes aren't worth it for most users, and it introduces the risk of a short with a poor application.
