I have always been a Corsair loyalist when it comes to psu's. I used eXtreme Power Supply Calculator to calculate wattage. I like this version. It will account for your overclock, # of fans, hdd's speeds, and generally more in depth for calculation purposes. http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

Is Corsair still the go-to vender for gaming rigs ? One disturbing point about the AX gold series. I keep reading reviews with people complaining about coil whine. The HX gold series is priced lower, and still has a 7-Year Warranty. Higher quality capacitors is the selling point of the gold series. Is this worth the hype ?

What brand of PSU should I get for this gaming rig ? Overclocking a 8350 to 4.6g with a 770, will suck up some juice.... :p

Antec DF85
Asus Crosshair Formula-Z
FX 8350 / NH-D14
Evga GTX 770 4g
Samsung 840 Evo 250G
WD Red 1 TB NAS
WD BLk 500G
PSU ?
Corsair Vengeance 8g

Wipeout,

Anything on our recommended list at about 550W will do you nicely:

These are the "best of the best" if that's what you want. Modulars are outstanding (IMO) for single GPU card systems. Bigger is fine if the price is right and Corsair certinly isn't the only game in town.

You have a valid Classified email address, there's some nice deals in our Classifieds. Take a look?
