I came across a PSU deal I thought I'd share - the Enermax Revolution 1050W 85+ Silver for $79 http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G19829 that's a "steal" in my book seeing as how it was originally listed for $339.
It is listed as OEM but all that means is; no marketing info on the box (plain white box) and no manual - probably no warranty either but I haven't looked into that. I had to order one

No deal this good comes without a caveat (aside from unknown warranty and no user guide) so here it is: Although it is a new PSU, the Revolution is a discontinued model that was designed in 2008.

On the flip side, the Revolution 1050 was very well received, reviews here

For the price, if it works and is new, that's a lot of PSU.
I'd be mildly concerned about the caps that have been sitting unpowered for a minimum of six years, electrolytic caps don't appreciate that much. That said, they used good caps so it's probably OK.

*Maximum of 6 years - in fact a "complaint" in the thread of the AnandTech review was "...It was said that the PSU would be available at the end of the month (then Novemeber), at the latest; here it is the end of the first week of December, and the thing still isn't to be seen anywhere. Maybe Enermax will decide to bless us by making it available before Christmas..." By DH003i Dec 2008

lol, like that matters

Oh designed in 2008, not discontinued in 2008. That makes a lot more sense.
Definitely a good deal then.
That's what I get for posting right after I wake up :chair:

I received my power supply yesterday. It has a lot of extra cabling for peripherals. Also a fan speed cable so you know how fast the fan in the supply is turning. Have a new Z97 board coming. Will see how it well it performs when the board gets here. Will post again when the new system is built.

Did Enermax make good power supplies around the time this one came out? Just curious, Ive never owned an Enermax before and am considering getting this if it's a quality PSU, thanks.
