question about the 12v powerplug

Hi
Just got a new board again and now i'm kind of wounderring since it is a 8 pin connectorplug on there for the 12v atxpower but there is 4 of them that is sealed from factory with a little lid
Now i wounders if it would be better if i took off that lid and use all 8 pins or if it doesn't matter if i use either 4 pin or all 8 pins

That lid is there to protec the plugs if you only have a four pin plug in it. If you have an eight pin plug then you want to remove it and use all eight.
