Hi, I suspect a hardware problem but not sure, as I can't locate it, I drop this q to general forum. Any ideas, please?

Problem is: I get BSOD usually right after logging to Windows (xp sp2), often at logging screen already. When I let comp stay on BIOS screen for some minutes ('warm up') I can usually boot to Windows normally. But still I may get similar BSOD later on, tho rarely, but totally random.

Windows safe mode boots normally, no errors at all so far.

Error is DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1), usual suspect is NV4_MINI.SYS, sometimes also some other.

Drivers should be up-to-date. Everest shows these statistics after few minutes of running:

CPU core: 1.52...1.79V, average 1.66V
+3.3V: 3.22...3.26V, average 3.25V
+5V: 4.73...4.92V, average 4.84V (4.73..4.76V stressed, 4.87...4.89V normal)
+12V: 12.04...12.34V, average 12.18V
DIMM: 2.66...2.67V, average 2.66V
AGP: 1.47...1.47V, average 1.47V

These look rather weird. Maybe faulty motherboard gives wrong readings? PSU is rather new and afaik quality product.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000, memory referenced
Arg2: 00000006, IRQL
Arg3: 00000001, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation

nv4 is associated with your gpu. Also, your psu may be brand new but doesn't mean it couldn't be faulty. I've had a psu fail after a month and thinking a hdd was going out. Although if you have no problems in safe mode, could be a driver issue. Have you tried rolling back your gpu driver?

Upped VCore +0.025V and DIMM voltage +0.10V. Had one crash in the beginning when powered up my comp after night, but just that one. Still alive and no BSOD since then.

Suppose I can't go much further with DIMM uncooled (2.77 V average by Everest now)? But maybe bit more CPU voltage to see if it helps?

I think I am just helping the symptoms, illness remains hidden.
MORE IMPORTANT: WHAT DOES THIS SIGNIFY?

Changing so little volts cannot result in BSOD to total stability so it still remains unknown.

Good god's luck is all I can say.

Did you run Prime95? That's a phenomenally tough test!

Prime95 commonly fails even when the PC appears to be stable!

Still not solved. Tried many drivers, soon have to try reinstall / do premature upgrade of all inner parts of the comp.

What puzzles me is, that my pc functions without problems in safe mode AND also when I play some graphically intense games, like Oblivion !! I can stay hours in Oblivion for instance, and no BSOD at all !!

But when I'm @Desktop, browsing internet and such, I get these STOP messages all the time.

Now how THAT is possible ??!?

Getting worse, happening now in safe mode too, and even when I try to reinstall XP on formatted partition.

Getting new motherboard in few days.

CORRECT!!! It was BAD CAPS!

Replaced motherboard, well, cpu and memory too, and after closer inspection noticed all the capacitors near my old Epox8kra2+ mobo cpu socket were swollen, a little bit leaking actually.

Running rock steady now :))))) *crosses fingers*

Thanks for comments!
