Recommendations for a AM3 MB, Phenom ii x4 955

Can someone please give me some recommendations for a Am3 Motherboard.

The Cpu I will be using is AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition.

The Gpu will be a EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX.

I plan on overclocking, as well as having two 9800 GTX if that's possible.

It's possible to have SLI and it's possible to have a great OC but right now you can't really have both. The nVidia chipsets don't seem to reach the high OC's of the AMD chipsets at this point. nVidia chipsets OC alright, they're just not the highest overclockers or the easiest sometimes. It would help a lot to know which way you'd like to go ...

All I can tell you is if you want SLI you'll need an nVidia chipset.

Any motherboard with an nVidia chipset and two or more PCIe x16 lots. The motherboard description will usually say if it's an nVidia or AMD chipset. I can't tell you which one will OC best because I don't keep track of nVidia chipsets anymore.


No AMD chipset board will run SLI though they will run a single nVidia card ...

Both use drr3 ,they are decent .Chipset itself wont affect OC , but SLI mobos are not very popular , as such most bioses not as mature , so that can effect your OC .But generally BE chips are not picky


First board actually looks very solid , there is also an open box available atm .
