Hey guys!

I just ordered a new Noctua NH-D14 fan & heatsink and wanted to know how to replace the stock fan/heatsink.

The MB is an ASUS Crosshair V Formula and the processor is an AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz.

I remember installing it with the thermal paste that came with it.

The Noctua comes with the NT-H1 paste.

What do I need to do to clean and prep for the new fan?

Many thanks! Can't wait to get things cooled down so I can do some OCing.

Just pull the old cooler off and clean all the thermal paste from the top of the CPU. You can use rubbing alcohol or acetone to remove the old paste. Apply either to a lint free cloth and clean it off. Once it's clean and dry, apply the new paste as per the instructions and install the new cooler.
