My current Windows 10 install started off life as Windows 8, then I upgraded to 8.1, then 10. I've been following the MS recommendations on here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...rom-your/07590098-90a9-4c7e-b6fe-5ce1632daf4b to create a bootable ISO to reinstall Windows, but when I try to find C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources with the Run box, I get an error message saying the location isn't available.

Is the "reset this PC" option in the Settings menu the same as a fresh install? Basically I'm wanting a fresh install of Windows 10.

Get the Windows Media Creation Tool from M$. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install

Download the iso, and burn it to a usb drive.

Once you have done a update to windows 10. If you want you then download a copy and do a clean install. When it ask you to put in a key click skip.

Once you are done doing the clean install and up and running. Once you connect to the internet it will be activated.

Download the tool and run it. Once it runs click on Create installation media for another PC.

@SMOKEU

Just in case you haven't checked. Please confirm your Win10 upgrade has successfully activated before attempting a clean install as otherwise it won't work.

Also make sure the clean install is the same edition Windows as your Win8. So Pro=Pro and Home=Home and x64=x64. Plus if you are in the EU and have an 'N' version of Win8 then you must install an 'N' version of Win10 too. (You can download the Media Pack separately)
