Have a friend that bought a setup from Ebuyer a while back and he's having some strange problems with what seems like GPU or mem (pic below). He is a professional photographer and uses the rig mainly for photo editing and some light gaming like World of Warcraft, he had this problem before and had to replace the original R9 but it continues. It happens sometimes in Windows, sometimes during photo editing but never in games so far. Everything in BIOS is set to default as he assembled but didn't touch anything else as far as he told me. Had latest Crimson drivers but i told him to downgrade to latest before, still crashes but now takes longer periods of time.

Cmon guys, little help here ? questions welcome, i'll try to answer as best i can.

I'd run the various common benchmarks abs stress tests to see if you can narrow down the possibilities. (Prime 95, memtest, 3dmark/heaven). To see if the system crashes with any significant stress.

Beyond that it wouldn't be a bad idea to do a fresh install of w10

Hes going to replace the GPU with an old HD7970 just to make sure, will also ask him if he can re-install Windows :) bit odd that happened with 2 different R9, bad batch ?

BIOS up to date on the mobo?

When he tried older drivers, did he use DDU to make sure it was a clean downgrade?

Yes on the DDU, likely not on the BIOS since he does not change or OC anything.
