SATA Drive not detected on ASUS A8V

I am trying to add a SATA drive to my A8V with FX60 and 4 gigs ram. I already have 3 working IDE drives.

I have enabled the SATA boot rom and selected the IDE mode for the Promise controller.

The bios detects the drive, but when I boot to Win XP it does not show up. I put the jumper on the drive Western Digital to force it to the SATA 1 mode.

Also, the promise controller won't start. See pic below:

Here's an interesting P.S. The computer that was the subject of this thread also had another operating system on it, Win2k. It had an identicle problem. The fix was also identicle.
