I always forget that XP sp1 is pretty much useless, until I go and re-install it. Glad it's all sorted out for you Trents.

Well, now that I got XP properly installed I was able to use CPU-z, Prime95 and HWMonitor to do some better overclocking. Here's what I got. I'm sure the CPU had quite a bit more headroom to overclock but the ram ran out as I already had the ram voltage up to 1.9 from the stock 1.8. CPU socket temps maxed out at 42c. These Semprons are great overclockers.

I also included a shot of the breadboard test setup. Pretty tacky, huh! That's the Gigabyte board I spoke of earlier, not the Asus that came in the box.

Man alive! XP must have 300 updates that need installing! Ridiculous! I guess it testifies to how long a run it had.

Very nice O/C there Tents!

EDIT: That's one heck of a benching case, what kind of motherboard standoffs does it take? ;)

Makes XP no longer treacherous:

Requires 2 blank CD-Rs.

nLite 1.4.9.1:

http://nliteos.com

With nLite, first make a CD with service pack 3 integrated.

After the first CD's burned, wipe the HDD and reinstall XP from the CD you just created.

Then redownload nLite:

Before running nLite from the SP3-integrated CD, go here:

http://xdot.tk/updates.html

This will add all updates for SP3!

Now, insert the CD with SP3 integrated then run nLite.

Add the hotfixes to the add-ons-and-update-packs section.

Don't forget to have nLite make an ISO!

The second CD is for SP3 and all critical hotfixes.

You can also use nLite to have XP include Intel AHCI and RAID support!

As you can see from post #20, I already did that. Thanks anyway.

Nice work! I like the computer case, it looks like it has good airflow.

See how much you can push that beast, then run some benchmarks.

Unless I back my starting ram speed down to 533 mhz I can't push the ram any further. That would wind up with the CPU overclocked a little higher but the ram under-clocked so probably no point in it from a performance standpoint.
