Well, I'm looking to replace the world's worst eyefinity setup (3 old beat up 17 inch monitors from work, seriously, one of them has the worst colors ever) with one medium sized monitor for gaming. I can either pick up the asus VE258Q, which everyone seems to be raving about the color quality,

save about thirty bucks and gain two inches in size

or spend about the same and get 1920x1200 goodness, but with a 5ms response time.

do 27 inchers look terrible at 1920x1080? and is the hp not totally suited for being a gaming display? Help me, denizens of the overclockers forums! I cannot decide!

The closer to the screen you are, the more likely you'll see the dots, so the 27" would look fine if viewed from a reasonable distance. The trade off is seeing smaller text and details from more than a few feet away.

No opinion on the monitor selection. Too many makes and models to choose from.
