sound card for new headphones+advice on new headphones.

hi everyone
At the moment I am thinking about getting a
Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset mainly as I have preordered an oculus rift and want a set of headphones with surround sound.
know my question is
question 1, is this a good 7.1 surround sound headset or is there better head sets out there my price rang is about $270 for the headset as I need a new one anyway.
and question 2, what sound card do I need for the 7.1 surround sound to work and to be quite good quality as well. my price is about $200 for this.

Just get any good set of headphones. For your price range, look at professional brands like Grado and Sennheiser.

For a sound card, look no further than the Asus STX. Another option is a DAC/headphone amp that plugs into the S/PDIF output.
