this is going to be my upcoming computer. was wondering if it would be fast enough to game and surfing the web. budget computer.

amd 64 3000+ venice
msi k8n neo4-f ( im planning on using a 20 pin, how would i plug this in.)
corsair VS 2x512 (got aready, cant be changed, now i want xms  )
WDC 800JD
x300se ( i will be getting leadtek 6600GT soon)
rosewill tu-155 case with 400w ps 17a on the 12v (got aready)

Everthing looks ok, im not a big fan of MSI but the NF4 mobo looks ok. The 20 pin plug plugs into the same socket as the 24pin just with 4 extra holes for the missing pins. As long as you DO NOT OVERCLOCK i think you will be ok, but i would no suggest runing for more than a month or two with a 20 pin psu, you risk haveing the wire burn, and take out your whole computer as well as the PSU. If you want get the 6200 and mod it to a 6600 that way you dont have to live with the x300se unless you already have it.

Recomendations

Is there any way you can save the money from buying the x300se and go ahead and get the 6600gt you want.
You didn't state which games you had in mind when you ask: "- was wondering if it would be fast enough to game"
According to ATI's web site the x300se is designed as there home and small office solution. They do not list it as there gaming solution. So we really need to know what games you want your computer to handle.Maybe these articles from Tom's Hardware Will help you make a decision.

hmm. been thinking about this and if i had to go get a new psu either way then i should go buy dfi- ultra d, should? can the dfi run the 400w 20pin for a while? the reason why i went wit neo4-f because to avoid buying a new psu. i know its recommend to get 480 with a native 24 pin but has one run it with 20pin with no problem?

ick Rosewill psu stink, sell it or return it. And the voltage all depends on what part of the world your in, if the USA then all voltages are 115VAC.

You just set the voltage to whatever comes out of your mains supply, 115V for US, 230V for UK. I'm not sure about other places, but if you live somewhere else, I'm sure you'll know what your mains voltage is :)
