First, hello to everybody, I am new at this Forum!
Sorry, if this thread is in wrong forum.

Well, I have been experiencing problems with my Windows 2003 Server PC,
as it has been randomly freezing and most of time there are usually
no error messages, no screens, nothing.

Something like this happens: The web-page I am surfing
(with IExplorer or Mozilla) or the game (Sacred) I was playing freezes or
the mp3-music I was listening (with Winamp) stops and the mouse
is frozen in one spot.

Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't do anything either.
The computer is just totally unresponsive, but still 'running' (fans are spinning etc).
Also noticed that since the problems started, the ICQ program (v. 2003a)
does not connect to server anymore
(strange, huh? IRC and IE works though).
I have to reboot to get it to work again, and this is very agonizing.

Current PC:
-400 W Be Quiet! Blackline 1.3 PSU
-Asus P4P800 Deluxe I865PE RAID, USB 2.0, 4xDDR Dual, Gigabit LAN, Audio
-2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 HT Northwood FSB800
-512 Mb DDR (2x256 Mb Geil PC 3200 / 400 Mhz) tryed in slots 1&3, 2&4
-40 Gb Seagate ST (IDE)
-160 Gb Samsung SP80 (IDE)
-Lite-on CD-RW 32 x 12 x 40 (IDE)
-HIS Ati Radeon Excalibur 9600 SE 128 Mb (AGP)
-1.44 FDD
-10/100 Mbps Realtek LAN card (PCI)

CPU VCORE 1.56 V
+3.3 V 3.36 V
+5 V 5.16 V
+12 V 12.22 V

AMIBIOS version is 08.00.09 (Build date 02/23/04)

CAS 2.5 - 4 - 4 - 8 (BIOS Auto)

MBM5
Case temperature 37(from start) to 48(after 24h) Celsius
CPU temperature 17(from start) to 25(after 24h) Celsius

This PC has been working just ok since Jan/Feb '04,
and the problems started at June. Tryed the PC with additional
80 mm cooler and neo-light, on and off, no difference.

Symantec antivirus corporate edition works just ok (updates ok),
no viruses found.

Done lately: added a new harddisk (Samsung 160 Gb IDE),
changed the power unit from Q-Tec 400 W to Be Quiet! 400 W,
also changed the videocard from Radeon 9000 to 9600.
Still the same stranger freezing happens from time to time.
Also updated the ICQ program to newest version, that works now ok.

These are the Windows 2003 Server error messages,
which I managed to capture in "Blue screen of death":

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xBA42AE32, 0x00000000, 0xBA42AE32, 0x00000000)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0x0000000A (0x30000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x804F77A4)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0x0000000A (0x002CC2FD, 0x0000001B, 0x00000001, 0x804E5FA7)

Also the PC has couple of times started itself again,
while I was away from the PC.

Any advices or ideas?
If you need more details, I'll try to answer.
I thank you for your time!

I wish I has experence with the o/s ,,But let me suggest something..I would assume there is a computer managment area that would contain an event viewer that would log application and hardware errors.Does that P/S have that and can you look in there to see if any log files list problems..

Memtest86+

Save memtest to your hard drive then get an empty floppy disk and extract memtest to the floppy disk....Open the disk and you'll find the files that you extract, just click the install file and it will install at the same location.

After you have done that, reboot with memtest and check your ram for problems.......

IRQ NOT LESS or EQUAL is mostly generated by ram errors.....

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tips guys!

I tryed to look the Windows event viewer,
but that did not clear me out enough
(mainly some warnings about processes with
different programs or applications).

So I went running this Memtest -program.
Here are some results:

Memtest86+ v 1.20
CAS 2.5 - 4 - 4 - 8 (BIOS set on Auto)
Test #3 Pattern 7f7f7f7f

At this point the memtest jammed and the PC jammed as well.
I tryed to run the test once more, it went through but on the next
day (when testing again) it jammed and PC got stuck as previously.

I'm leaving on a vacation now, so I gave my memory modules to a friend
to test them, so I'll hear some more test results later and post also
here if I find out where the problem really is.

Once again, thank you.
