I would prolly keep the RAM and go for a G3258 - Z97 mobo - 212 evo combo. Will save yourself some cash, overclock it to 4.0 ghz, add in a 250gb ssd and you'll be golden.

Do yourself a favor and get G.Skill ram, it tends to plug and play better with AMD Fx chips. Also what revision of the UD3 board, do not get the Rev 3.0 board you will have issues.

Just got the parts in and they bench test OK, will do full install this weekend (hopefully). 8 cores of AMD goodness to replace my old Q6600 rig. It served many good years but it's way past time to upgrade.

Kevin007--yes, I have a SSD, they are great :D

Mandrake4565--I went with your advice about the gskill memory, and I checked, it's revision 4.0, thanks for the tips

I like the gskill ripjaw x ram. 1866.
Also a good mobo is the crosshair v formula z it makes over clocking simple and what not. I do like the processor as well. Im about to hook up a h100i water cooler to mine.

It's about time you got rid of that Q6600 :p

I recently updated mobo to the m5a99fx and it was a nice upgrade from my old Crosshair III.

Let me know how you like the AMD FX processor. I'm using a 1100T and considering moving to the FX or scratching it off and going back to the blue team. Time and budget will mostly dictate.
