T32 EOC WIR 14May21: Summer is coming.

Thank you guys for your support and efforts. There are some really good numbers this week smattered in with a seasonal lull. We’re a strong team and we’ll keep on pushing the larger teams.

In contrast to Game of Thrones, we do not fear the winter. We fear the summer and summer is coming. I don't know that we will see any "Summer Walkers"(?) or anything so drastic but we are seeing a reduction in production. It's an annual event and nothing new. If you're new to the fold, production will bounce back come winter. If you are shutting down and reducing production for the season, start planning your return. Clean fans and water blocks or whatever. Take inventory of your gear and plan your best strategy to use that gear to produce as much as you can.

Due to the edits I had to make in this chart this week, I can see that it was all goofed up last week. That said, looking at the graph at EOC, the team really stepped up in production. The chart above is showing that while we are being out-produced, we are showing our metal and holding firm. We are like the 300…. only …. well… yeah.

Both would be better but either one would be good. Do what you can and we’ll leave the light on. (What?)

I’m not sure how I made it above 1 million ppd but I’ll take it. We are clearly seeing the down side of summer in the number of us able to earn 1 million plus. Do what you can, improve as you can, anything that you can do is good.

Milestones are earned at all levels. Milestones are the best part of all this to me. We can’t all have access to large farms of folding rigs. We all do what we can. I just installed my air conditioner so I will significantly be dropping my PPD. My plan for returning is snagging a 3080 or 3090. Whatever comes in stock first. (Hoping for 3090 )

My PPD is likely to take a hit for a couple of weeks - need the workstations to do some heavy lifting on a project. The 3070 and 5950 will still be going though.

When I use my garage machine for CNC work, my PPD drops about 500K until I reboot the machine.

My electric bill is the same for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, being that I live in Texas I have to run my AC all year long because of all my folders

I pulled my 1080 and have it on the market. I then took 2 x 980Ti's out of machines that weren't able to fold and installed them on my main machine. Unfortunately, one of them did not survive. So I currently only have my 980Ti and my 1st gen Threadripper folding at the moment.

In time, the money I get for the 1080, the 1080Ti that I already sold, I can afford a 3090 at the current *retail* price. Should I win the option to buy one, I will and then I can start to rebuild my farm.

I mentioned 2 weeks ago I had to shut off half my production, it cooled down enough to get 10 extra days in...The heat in SE PA is here to stay now. So down to 4 or 5 million a day. Like Don , I'll continue looking for 3080's (3090's) so in 3 months I'll make up the summer loss. Also still waiting a 1300W PSU to run 3 in my best PC.
