Lower VID means you can get faster clocks with lower voltage. So if you mean me hitting 4ghz at 1.2025v is hotter than you getting it running 3ghz at the same voltage... then you're right.
Otherwise... you're wrong.
My E6400 (which MAY wind up in the classes... though I'd have a hard time parting with it...) is a B2 with a VID of 1.275 and it will ABSOLUTELY run down any CPU with a higher VID. Heat was never really a problem.
