Hi i have a problem. I tried to overclock the processor (Pentium e2160) on a Gigabyte g31m-s2l board, but the board did not post when the ram was set to more than 1000mhz. Voltages on the ram were raised by 0.4V, CPU on 1.42 cl was raised to 6 from basen 5. Specification: Gigabyte g31m-s2l, Pentium e2160, ram patriot 800mhz 2gb,PSU SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 750W, Radeon hd6870 GPU

Ram won't do 1000 even at cl 6. Put it on a divider and go back to cl 5.

As Mr. Scott indicated, you'll have to start by backing off on your RAM's starting frequency to allow room for it to speed up without exceeding it's capability as you increase the FSB frequency of the system.
