Looking to upgrade my system and move up to a larger case, was wondering if anyone had experience with this one. Seems like a big case for 79.99 after rebates:

Any thoughts would be great!
- No USB 3.0 is one draw back...

Eventually it will house...
i5 3570k, hyper 212 or similar cooler, 7870 or 7950, SSD, 2-4 3.5" HDs, 2x DVDs...

I did a build for a friend with a COOLER MASTER CM690 II we got for $50 AR and was very happy with the results, if I could find it for $50 again I would probably just get it and be done.

Personally, I would prefer some side-facing hard drive bays, removable too so you can get increased airflow.

If you absolutely need a full tower, with the $40 MIR and $40 promo-code, that's a great price. There are probably better quality cases in that $80-100 range, but only mid-towers.

I agree I liked the side facing bays in the CM 690 II, worked really well.
I don't really need a full tower...a mid tower would work fine.
I was looking at cases in the $50-100 range from newegg as I have $20 credit from a mistake they made :bday:
If it had USB 3.0 or side facing bays I would have already bought it...still debating...

I need something I gave my case to my brother in law when we upgrade his, and I have some of my parts stuffed into a old Dell Inspiron 530 case as a temporary solution...

I like the Corsair Special Edition White Graphite Series 600T, but its out of my budget...

There are a # of other corsairs on sale in my range:
Corsair Carbide Series 300R - $61.99 AR

Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed - $70.99 AR

Corsair Carbide Series 500R Black - $83.49

Well ended up ordering the Thermaltake V NVIDIA Edition, got it today...sending it back tomorrow :eh?:

The case itself is pretty nice, VERY HEAVY, tons of space and plenty of width, it was looking pretty good. BUT...the snap down tabs on the top control panel were broken off so it was just hanging loose on the top.

I had also ordered a 200 mm fan to go in the 2nd space at the top...BUT it won't fit too big :(

Top Fan advertised as 200 mm - it's actually a 170 mm fan
Side Fan advertised as 230 mm - it's actually a 200 mm fan

Newegg setup a RMA for the case and the fan and I'll be droping them off at UPS tomorrow.

For the price I think value is hard to beat...That side I'm not sure I'll re-order...

Sorry to hear about the bad case delivery. Its always such a pain in the rear to have a project held up having to return something.

If you can find one the 690-II nVidia edition is a sweet case. It may only be a mid tower but I have got 5x120 worth of radiator, dual bay pump/res, fan controller, and BD drive, plus SLI setup inside of one.

The 690-II nVidia edition is a pretty nice looking case
I just realized there is a microcenter not to far from my sister in MD, so I might hold off building until I visit so I can pick up the i5 3570k/Asrock extreme 4 combo, that will give me plenty of time to watch for a case and other deals on parts in the meantime.

If I see the 690-II come up again for $50 AR I'll grab one...
