i was looking at maybe apply at Nerds on site what your thoughts?
the start fee is cheap than normal (normaly $3,500 but now $350)

what do you guys think about them?

I actually worked for the founders in 2000. They essentially are a franchise.

Think of it like this:

You are your own tech. BUT you get an established brand name.

You are required (or at least I was) to buy your own red beetle.

Since you are not just a paid employee, you are responsible for your own taxes.

The guys who started it are sincerely great people. They know their stuff. Personally I had issues with the business model and moved on.

may i ask what?
like i said im looking into this for a job/business
also few things how much money did you make after they take what you owe out?

At the time, hourly rates here were about 80-100 bucks for residential calls.

I cannot recall the breakdown unfortunately. But it varied, based on things like if you had bought the beetle for example.

It was something like:

100 dollars for 1 hour

12% to Nerds On Site if you didn't have the beetle
8% if you did have the beetle

rest to you, from which you must set aside some for tax purposes etc..

If you are in a large city, where there are a ton of appointments to fill, you will make great money. That is, if you are decent at on-site troubleshooting also!

My issue was that why charge a customer 100 an hour, only to in the end after all your hard work, maybe see 60? Like I said the trade off is an established brand. It might be exactly what you are looking for!

*EDIT:

I could be waaaay off (in either direction) on those percentages. It would be best for you to ask them for that information.

no problem the numbers are off but i mostly wonder if my $350 would be well spend or would i be better looking else where because $60 for 1hr of hard works is Great for me heck even $40 is pretty good as long as i can get maybe $400-700 a week of work i would be very happy cuase right now i make very little

Do you have the updated numbers?

Yes you can make great money, its all based on how hard you work thats all! :)

well we dont get payed by the hr anymore but by the solution
and for %s i dont remember off hand
