Ultra Budget Gaming System

So tryin to get a perspective on this for someone I know.

What do you guys think? Add a decent 20 inch crt from craigslist for $20-$50 (no need for lcd) and a cheap keyboard and mouse wireless combo (somewhere local) and it should be a decent damn machine.

Total Price: $501 no including tax and or MIR and or Shipping..

So.. i say thats damn good for a low range gaming rig dont you? I could suggest a 19" lcd for around $150 more.

that looks good to me, its certainly loads better than my rigs and my xp rig plays CSS fine so i should play most things well....

It looks good. One thing though is that case wouldn't have very good airflow. I would go with the OEM chip and spend $20 on a HSF and OC it a little bit. I would go with a good Antec case that includes a PSU for around $60 instead of spending that much on the little case and PSU.

Why get the 3600+ Windsor and not the Brisbane? Will this rig be overclocked? If so the Brisbane will do much much better and run cooler as well.

Also, I'd switch that microatx Motherboard with the Biostar TForce7050. Much better motherboard...but if the $20 difference is substantial, then the Abit will be ok.

Also, the 7900GS is significantly faster than the 7600GS and is ~$30 more.

Ahh didnt realized I had chosen the Windsor 3600+. Kinda was paying attention when I threw this thing together.

The mATX case is because of lanparty's, cramped space at his place and so on.

No overclocking will be done so as long as its running smooth and stable it shouldnt matter which board is used.

I also didnt realize how cheap the 79's were getting so I updated the list with a 7900GS KO from eVGA for $130 after rebate.
