Unlocked Athlon XP 1600+ (Palomino) Multi Probs
Hello,
I just bought an Abit NF7-S rev 2.0 motherboard. I installed my Athlon XP 1600+. I unlocked the chip 2 years ago, using conductive grease to connect a couple of the bridges. The unlock worked fine on my old mobo, Gigabyte 7VRX, but I am having problems on the NF7-S.
I am using tictac's sub zero bios
I can't post using the 9x multi at 200 fsb and if I post at 166 fsb the bios tells me the multi is 10.5 x actually.
I can boot into windows at 8x200 and pass prime95, but can't even post at 8x 202.
Do you think the new motherboard may have a problem with the chip because it is manually unlocked? Should I remove the conductive grease?
Thanks.
