We've got some competiton coming our way

Barnacules just posted a video on folding@home explaining how to get involved. He formed a team in this video. After 4 days it's already projected to hit the top 100 a month from now. They're current output for the last 24 hours is 92,745,218. If they keep this up they'll be climbing the ranks in no time.

Hopefully it's not just a passing fad, and most of his teammates continue folding for the long haul. I welcome the additional compute power, and competition

They have 2994 members but 2900 active now. Just think if we had that % active on Team 32.

Yep. Looking at our numbers now and we have 89 active folders. We have been punching above our weight for some time now.

They hit over 122 million yesterday. If they can maintain that, they could even topple EVGA in time. But to the OP, time is the key here.

Another question is how many of these folks are new folders? Hopefullly they weren't pulled from other teams. They are getting a lot of work done that's for sure.

Yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on them over the next month. On one hand, this youtube channel gets a lot of traffic, so there's a lot of potential for people seeing this a month from now and joining the program. On the other hand, most folders churn out points for a few days/weeks, then get sick of the electricity/heat/noise that comes with pegging your hardware at 100% 24/7. Time will tell.
