AMD 3000+ Venice @ 311x9 (2,800MHz)
LBBLE 0518EPMW
XP90 w/Panaflo Ultra-High Speed
Volts set to 1.65v, reads 1.632v
38c idle/44c load
DFI NF4 Ultra-D
Fortron 530w PSU
Played 4 hours of gaming, 5 hours of prime so far
Is your ram TCCD or TCC5?

thats a great OC those 3000+ Venice's are the new XP Mobiles me thinks.

I had 2 3500+s that did somewhere around 3ghz depending on what I was doing with them.

This is on water.

I still don't understand how people get such low temps idle. My case flow is awesome, and I can never idle less than 34C.

Venice 3500+ running at 2620 (262x10)
LBBLE 0516 DPMW
Watercooled
1.45v + 10% (1.61 in windows)
28C idle / 40C load
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum bios 1.8
OCZ Powerstream 520
24+ hours prime stable

Can get it prime stable at 2680 with 1.36 bios, but it needs a lot of vcore to get there (1.45 + 15%).

This thread keeps getting bumped up for me and theres no new posts what gives??

Nor are you intended to understand. Aside from a handful of cooling fanatics, most people rely upon the temperature reporting circuitry built into the motherboard. That circuitry is as reliable as licking you finger, holding it up and reporting the wind speed. Also, all idles are not created equal. Programs running in the backfround can effect idle temperature, as well as halt-on-idle routines, not to mention half a dozen other contributing factors besides thru-case flow.

Worry about load temps only. That's where it counts anyway.

oh ok, well i built a 3200+ Venice system on a DFI Nf3 Ultra-D for a friend and got it to 2.5ghz with 1.28vcore semistable, with stock cooler.

Currently working on burning in 250x11 - 1:1 - 1.55vcore with 2.5/3/3/6 timings ;)

A64 3000+ Venice @ 300x9 (2,700MHz)
LBBLE 0520CPAW
Watercooled
1.55v + 110% (1.65v)
25C idle/38C load
DFI NF4 Ultra-D
OCZ Powestream 520W PSU
2x 512 TwinMos PC3200 SP (150 memory divider) 2-2-2-5 1T (DDR450) @ 3.2v
5 hours prime stable so far

Things to note. My TwinMos ran DDR500 with 2-2-2-5 timings at 3.2v on my NF3 and DTR 3000+, but I am unable to keep my system stable with such clocks with my venice and NF4 Ultra-D. I need to use the 150mhz divider. Not sure if it is becuase of a weak memory controller on the cpu or what.

Second, my DTR and previous newcastle on this same watercooling loaded at around 5C lower than this venice. I thought that the 90nm process ran cooler. Idle is about the same between all three chips.

Otherwise, I am still working on it. New to socket 939, but I'll figure it out.

My favorite (very quiet fan setting and able to deal w/ temp swings in the house) is at 2.805.

My "I wish I had better cooling" look:

My Venice 3000+ hit 2775 (HTT @ 308Mhz) at 1.60V on a ChainTech VNF4U V2 using the stock AMD heatsink and passed a 12 hour Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 session. I'm not sure about the board being able to survive this speed, there seems to be a Capacitor that whines somewhere near the CPU.

On Monday, ambient temps were high, and the system rebooted (I keep the AC programmed for 85f when no one is home) and it hung on a post error until I came home. Anyway, the fans were annoying, so I backed down to stock voltage, for 2394Mhz, and cool n quiet (and the fans don't turn on LOL, CPU fan is like 800 RPM under load!)

I guess I need to get around to making a S939 bracket for my venerable jagged edge waterblock :) and see if it's up to the task.

Paul.

(yes, I know, but I didn'r record any of the CPU info when I installed it so you're gonna have to wait until I try re-installing my 5 year old watercooling equipment)

Finally my turn

  • 3000+ (LBBLE 0520 CPAW) @ 2700 Mhz, 300 x 9
  • XP-90C /w 42 CFM 90mm fan
  • 1.648 volts
  • Temps 32c idle & 46c load
  • DFI Ultra-D
  • 500W Bluestorm
  • I've ran prime95 for about 10 hours, plus folding, gaming and general use for over a week.
  • Round 2 with this chip sometime soon hopefully, I'm determined it has more go in it than this. I am considering removing the IHS as well

I am 100% stable 3200+ venice 2760@ 1.55v With load temps at 37c. With 1.65 I only gain 50 mhz so I am going to remove the IHS to check how well it contacts the core and apply some Shin Etsu. Should put me over 2.8 without going crazy with voltage.

WOW, awesome, results man! What stepping do you have?
What RAM and HTT settings are you running?

My 3000+ is perfectly stable at 2.72ghz @ 1.65v with load temps at about the same as yours at about 36C. I idle at 24C, which makes this venice have the highest idle/load variance I've had under my watercooling (normally it is only 6-8C difference with my previous A64's). Making me wonder if the IHS is not making real good contact. Please let us know your results.

hello everyone this is my first post and i though i would ask if anyone know if i am limmited by my chipset to go any higher then 250 i have a ga-k8nsc -939 board and i am stable at allmost every setting intill i go over the 250mhz mark then windows dont load specs amd 3700 s/d 2gigs of supper talaint ram
