It will probably take DNA samples to activate this one.

Microsoft Windows Penitentiary (for all the copyright **** they are gonna have thats what its gonna be like)

I don't know if you guys have seen it yet, but if you go to windows website to download some of their stuff (wmp10) they are verifing for authenticity, i'll bet there is going to be a lot of that in longhorn.

Verifing for auth is optional.

But yes Longhorn will probally have a ton of crap like that on it... which will all be cracked within the first week of release.

They should just give up with trying to protect it... it's going to be broken any way it goes. They don't make their money from the end users like us anymore... they make it from large licenses and OEM's.

you're all missing the obvious

if Windows XP pro means Windows Expert professional, there is only on thing to top this:

Windows 1337.. this will come in different flavours of course:

Windows 1337 sux0r Edition (formerly known as Home edition)
Windows 1337 r0x0r Edition (you guessed it.. professional edition)

and finally to satisfy the server market:
Windows 1337 pwns u 4ll

how about a light edition without the media player
Windows 1337 ITI (sounds nice doesn't it - its teh incomplete)

;)

well well, at least I tried to be funny at this late hour.

I doubt they will drop the "Windows" name as people are too familiar with it.

I would wager Windows XP06, Windows '06.

PS A friend suggested Windows VW or Windows RH (VW=vaporware, RH=resource hog).
