before 2 weeks i was going to get a Q6600 but i decided to wait for the nehalm 6 core release then get a 4 core one (i think it would be at a good price ~220$) so i thougt why dont i get a e2xxx and oc it to ~3.2 GHz so as to save some money .
my qestions are:
1-would a e2xxx be enough to play games(crysis) (1280 by 1024 all high 25-30 fps) oc'd to 3.2 with the below config????:confused::confused::confused:

2-if it is enough which e2xxx to get and which stepping???

e2xxx oc'd to 3.2
mobo: GA-P35-DS3l
xfx 8800gt alfa dog edition
2GB OCZ platinium rev.-2 800MHz
a decent psu
thermaltake blue orb II

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

and thanks in advance for your help

E2160/80 seems good for overclock, they have 9 and 10 multi.
2140 is kick ***.. mine M0 revision (don't think intel produce L2 rev anymore), 3.4Ghz with no sweat, but most E2xxx can get 2.8 - 3.2, some needs high vcore and some even on stock vcore. Mine set to 1.42v bios for 3.4.

EDIT:
i played crysis at 1680x1050 all madium settings with quite decent framerate

thx

Same situation you just outlined. I bought an E2180 this afternoon with the reading this should get to 3.0GHZ with minimal effort. I also ordered the same board you have. Let me know how you make out. Let me know if you find anything about E2180 steppings as well.

sorry man but i just went on and got a q6600, because i learnt that nehalm would have a new socket so i cant upgrade for the next 3-4 years (no money)
