window 8.1 update

is it safe to install the window 8.1 update i got window 10 preview?
i am scared to install the update will this remove my original key and make it a free window 10 preview key and then need to buy another one?
cannot get other updates because the window 10 preview?

I would only install Windows 10 if you are willing to be a beta tester and give feedback to microsoft. Otherwise stick with Windows 8.1

I also don't believe you lose the 8.1 key.

Key will be unaffected but you should not use Beta versions of Windows unless you are able to dual boot to them and leave your original Windows in place so you can just reboot into them.

Windows 10 is for testing purposes only. Every Beta version of Windows so far had issues, sometimes major issues, which only got fixed in the official final version.
