Windows 8 takes SO long to go to sleep

Usually takes up to a minute once the screens go off for the actual machine to turn off. I can't find out why via Google, can anyone help me?

It is most probably trying to close down (background) programs during that time. Try to find out which program it is.

Sleep is instant here on 8.1.

Usually as neo668 said, you have to troubleshoot sleep issues yourself. Try to sleep with no apps open, and keep progressing until you find the culprit.

Turned off a whole bunch of services, uninstalled heaps of crap and it seems to be fixed now. Thanks!
