Windows Install Program Borked (Vista64)

The result from uninstalling Windows SE that was not compatible with Vista64 left the Windows Vista64 Windows Installer borked. I'm guessing SE overwrote and left incompatible Windows install software behind but I don't know that for sure. I get to the drive location to install the Power Chute APC UPS software > 'Next' and that's it. No install .exe runs. Any ideas?

Google searches are many and unclear.
